We are beyond words with how you’ve supported Coaches vs Cancer throughout the years.
Your dedication and commitment have helped raise over $3.2 million to fund life-saving cancer research and services offered through the American Cancer Society. In addition, through a unique partnership with the local non-profit, the Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund, we’re able to keep even more funds local to the Central PA area to help ease the financial burden of individuals and families in our community who are battling cancer so their focus is on treatment and recovery.
Due to the financial and emotional strain of recent events and out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of our volunteers and guests, and with respect for the recommendations from our government and public health officials as they relate to COVID-19, we have made the decision to cancel our Annual Golf Tournament previously scheduled for May 28-29, 2020.
Even in this very difficult and uncertain time, Coaches vs Cancer of Penn State is celebrating our 25th Anniversary this year and we will remain focused on leading the fight for a world without cancer.
As Coach Chambers reminds us, “Cancer never takes a day off. Your involvement with Coaches vs Cancer of Penn State helps make every day better for our friends, our family and our neighbors who are fighting this disease.”
We are very hopeful about holding our Fall events—including our 10th Annual Race Day Soirée which is now scheduled for August 29th, our Fall 5K Walk/Run, our Real Men Wear Pink campaign raising funds for breast cancer research and services, and the Coach’s Challenge. For more information on our Fall events, click on the "2020 Events" tab.
We consider you a very important member of the CvC Family, and we thank you for your unconditional support! We plan to bring the golf tournament back even stronger in 2021 to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer! Cancer hasn’t stopped. Neither have we!
With warm regards to you and your family,
2020 Coaches vs Cancer of Penn State Committee
For more than 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s.
